School Management
Only the super administrator can add schools and manage them all. School administrators can manage the school to which they were attributed.
Adding a School
A subscription can cover multiple schools; a school board may acquire a subscription for all its educational institutions, for example. If the subscription includes licenses for multiple schools, the super administrator will be able to add schools in the management interface. Otherwise, this option will be hidden.
Schools can be added in two ways:
Manual addition
Click the Schools tab, then click the Add a school button, enter the school’s name, define the custom URL subdomain and the signup code, add a school administrator (optional) and click Add. Repeat for each subsequent school.
File import
Import an Excel or CSV file containing all required information for the schools you want to add.
Login Options
Block the use of certain single sign-on services by unchecking the box beside the corresponding option. Uncheck all three Allow login with… boxes to force users to log in using only their Typing Pal account. You can also change these settings after a school has been created by clicking the Edit button in the Information panel of the School Summary.
Default Keyboard
Keyboard type can vary depending on the platform, the keyboard language and the key layout.
Set a default keyboard type for your school by selecting from the options in the three drop-down menus under Keyboard when you create the school manually. You can also change these settings after a school has been created by clicking the Edit button in the Information panel of the School Summary.
If students use a different type of keyboard at home, they will be able to configure it themselves in the Language and keyboard section under My settings.
Location
Specify the location of a school by indicating its country, region, city and time zone in the drop-down menus under Location when you create a school manually. You can also change these settings after a school has been created by clicking the Edit button in the Location panel of the School Summary.
Including the school’s location makes it easier for users to find it with the school search tool on Typing Pal’s master login page if they forget their school’s custom URL. It also ensures that the time registered for the completion of an activity corresponds to the actual time at which the activity was completed.
